Uncover the colorful lines on tires

Sep 30, 2022

These color coils have their own exclusive name - color marking lines, which are printed by tire manufacturers to distinguish tire crowns. During tire production, it is inevitable that multiple specifications and patterns are produced at the same time, and that the same specifications and patterns are produced with different rubber compounds. If you want to distinguish these patterns, specifications, and adhesives, you must rely on color markings. In order to facilitate identification and avoid misuse of tread compound, different colored lines will be added to the tread compound to distinguish specifications, patterns and other information. However, there is no specific regulation on the color of color lines, so the color lines of different manufacturers have different meanings.

As the tread color stripe is added in the production process, it will be integrated with the tire after vulcanization, so it is not easy to wipe off. However, these colored threads have no impact on the performance of the tire, and will wear away slowly with tire wear. Because of this feature, many people doubt that the tires without color lines are not new tires. However, this is a fundamentally wrong view. In fact, all tire enterprises have the right to choose whether to use color markings, even if it is related to distinguishing tire production. In the past evaluation of tire business, we have seen many new tires without color markings - different manufacturers can determine whether or not they have color markings according to their own production needs, and color markings only serve as the identification process, not other things.
