Teach you to recognize the marks on tires

Dec 08, 2021

Tires are important parts of automobiles. There are more than 10 kinds of marks on automobile tires. Correctly identifying these marks is very important for the selection, use and maintenance of tires. It is of great significance for ensuring driving safety and prolonging the service life of tires. The following is for everyone Explain

1. Tire specifications: Specifications are the symbolic data of tire geometric parameters and physical properties. There are three ways to express tire specifications: A. Metric system (m); B. Metric system (m); B. Metric system; C. British system; British system tire specifications are often represented by a set of numbers. Units are inches. The letters or symbols in the middle have special meanings:

2. Tire structure: "R" means radial tire, "D" and "一" mean bias tire.

Others: "XL" means locally reinforced tires, "TG" means engineering tractor and motor grader tires (for off-road use), and "NHS" means off-road use tires.

3. Layer level: Layer level refers to the nominal number of plies in the tire rubber layer, which is not completely consistent with the actual number of plies, and is an important indicator of tire strength. The level is marked in Chinese, such as level 12; and the level is marked in English, such as "14P.R", which means level 14.

4. Cord material: Some tires are marked separately, such as "nylon" (NYLON), which is generally marked after the level; some tire manufacturers in the world mark after the specifications, and use the first letter of the Chinese pinyin, such as 9.00-20N, 7.50-20G, etc., N stands for nylon, G stands for steel wire, M stands for cotton thread, and R stands for rayon.

5. Load and air pressure: Generally indicate the larger load and the corresponding air pressure, the load is in "kg" as the unit, the air pressure is the tire pressure, and the unit is "kPa".

6. Rim specification: indicates the rim specification that matches the tire. It is convenient for practical use, such as "standard rim 5.00F".

7. Balance mark: It is made of colored rubber and printed on the sidewall to indicate that the tire is very light. It should be directly facing the valve during assembly to ensure the balance of the entire tire.

8. Rolling direction: The pattern on the tire is particularly critical for drainage and anti-skid during driving. Therefore, off-road vehicle tires with asymmetrical patterns are often equipped with arrow signs to assemble the rolling direction to ensure the designed adhesion and anti-skid performance. If it is installed incorrectly, it will be counterproductive.

9. Wear limit mark: Use rubber strips and blocks to mark the wear limit of the tire on one side of the tire. Once the tire wear reaches this mark position, it should be replaced in time, otherwise the tire will burst midway due to insufficient strength.

10 Production batch number: A set of numbers and letters are used to indicate the year, month and quantity of tires. For example, "98N08B5820" means the 5820th tire produced in Group B in August 1998. The production batch number is used to identify the degree of newness and storage time of the tire.

11. Trademarks: Trademarks are the signs of tire manufacturers, including trademark text and patterns, which are generally prominent and eye-catching and easy to identify. Most of them are marked with the name of the manufacturer.

Everyone knows these marks, they will be useful for tire identification and maintenance in the future.
